Phone-A-Thon Part 3

3.21.2007
The phone-a-thon seems to be going pretty well. I've raised into the $700's now (over three nights), which is good for my grand total for Helsinki. It's been mostly fun; there have only been a few awkward moments...like when I called a girl who was in the building doing the phone-a-thon as well. Awesome. Two more nights. Hopefully I'll break $1000 over the whole time.

In the meanwhile, here's that picture of me (and Ruggles) after the St. Patty's day race. I had already removed my green jacket, so I guess I'm looking less Leprechauny than I did whilst running.

Phone-A-Thon Part 1

3.19.2007
Last night was part one (of five) of the Bolder Options telethon. Though I hate making phone calls to people I don't know, this is, of course, for a good cause, and by the end of the evening I was feeling a little more comfortable and not swallowing all my words.
*
The perk of phone-a-thon-ing for Bolder Options is that all money that I "earn" through the calls goes toward my Helsinki goal. Last night carried moderate success, but I had a few people who are going to send unspecified amounts, so I might have raised more than I thought. Either way, it was fun to hang out with some of my teammates and learn a bit more about Bolder Options. I'll be back Monday-Thursday of this week, so hopefully I'll be well on my way to achieving my goal of $3800 for Helsinki.

Also: I ran that St. Patty's day race on Saturday. It was tougher than a 5K should be (thanks to my being out of shape), but fun anyhow. I'll post a picture of my silly getup here tomorrow.

Denial Times Three

3.14.2007
Well, it hasn't been a productive couple of weeks. I've ignored the blog, and running has been all but non existent in my schedule due to a nagging respiratory infection (and lack of motivation). I signed up for a St. Patrick's Day race this weekend, though, which I'll run (in my ridiculous leprechaun getup) despite my lack of recent training.

I also haven't been very diligent about getting my fund raising stuff together. Next week is the phone-a-thon, but I need to get my personal support letters out so people can start reading the blog, donating to my online site, and sending in checks!
